Our Services

Individual counselling offers dedicated one-on-one space to explore what’s happening in your life, understand patterns, build practical skills, and work toward meaningful change. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to you—there is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what to talk about.
Sessions may involve conversation, skill-building, reflection, EMDR, DBT-informed strategies, or other approaches depending on your needs and goals. Support is available for concerns such as trauma, substance use and addiction, emotional regulation, anxiety, stress, grief, relationships, and life transitions.
Session details: Standard sessions are approximately 50 minutes. Appointments are available virtually by secure video, by telephone, and in person through mobile/in-home counselling where available. Frequency is flexible; some clients attend weekly or biweekly, while others schedule according to their needs and circumstances.
-
Open Sky Intensives are therapy intensives that offer more time and space to focus on a specific concern, experience, or therapeutic goal without being limited by a traditional counselling hour. Longer sessions can provide an opportunity to explore more deeply, practise skills, process experiences, and bring greater continuity to the work.
An intensive is not about rushing therapy or trying to accomplish everything in one session. Instead, the extended time allows us to slow down, stay with the work, and use approaches that may benefit from more time than a standard appointment allows. Depending on your needs, an intensive may incorporate EMDR, DBT-informed strategies, trauma-focused work, reflection, psychoeducation, or other therapeutic approaches.
Session details: Intensives are offered in extended appointment blocks, with the length and focus discussed beforehand. Time is built in for checking in, therapeutic work, breaks when needed, and grounding before the session ends. A regular or preparatory session may be recommended before an intensive to ensure the format is appropriate for you.
Intensives may be used as part of ongoing counselling or as a more focused addition to your existing therapeutic work.

One Sky Wellness offers therapeutic groups, psychoeducational workshops, and mental wellness programming for individuals, communities, schools, workplaces, agencies, and organizations. These spaces are designed to create opportunities for learning, connection, skill-building, and growth alongside others.
Programming may explore topics such as emotional regulation, coping skills, trauma and resilience, substance use, stress, boundaries, caregiver wellness, helping-professional wellness, and other identified needs. Offerings may range from a single workshop to a multi-session therapeutic or psychoeducational group.
Program details: Groups and workshops may be offered virtually or in person, with length, group size, format, location, and pricing varying by program. Scheduled groups and workshops will be offered throughout the year, so keep an eye out for upcoming opportunities and registration dates.
Customized programming can also be developed in collaboration with schools, workplaces, communities, agencies, and organizations to reflect the unique needs and priorities of their participants or community.
-
One Sky Wellness provides flexible, contracted counselling and mental wellness services for rural, remote, and northern communities, schools, agencies, organizations, and other service providers. Services can be delivered directly within communities and are designed to complement—not replace—the knowledge, relationships, and supports already in place.
Rather than arriving with a predetermined model, services are developed collaboratively around the needs, priorities, strengths, and existing resources of each community.
Contracts may include individual counselling, recurring community visits, short-term intensive service periods, therapeutic groups, workshops, staff and helping-professional wellness, consultation, or a combination of services. Programming can also be developed in response to specific community-identified needs.
Contract details: Services may be arranged as a one-time visit, recurring visits, short-term contract, or ongoing partnership. In-person and virtual services can be combined where appropriate. Frequency and length of visits are flexible and determined collaboratively. Scheduling, travel, accommodations, fees, programming, and other logistical considerations are discussed with each organization and clearly outlined in a service agreement before services begin.
One Sky Wellness recognizes that every community is different. The goal is to listen first, build relationships, and develop services that make sense for the people and place being served.

Coverage varies between insurance providers and individual plans. I encourage you to confirm that my professional designation is covered by your plan before booking. Official receipts are provided and can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement where applicable.
-
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be charged the full $130 session fee, with exceptions considered for emergencies or circumstances outside your control. Appointments can be changed by contacting One Sky Wellness or through the online booking system.

Yes. I have experience supporting children and youth and recognize that counselling with young people can look different from counselling with adults.
The level of caregiver involvement depends on the young person’s age, developmental needs, circumstances, and applicable consent and confidentiality requirements. When caregiver involvement is appropriate, I work to balance collaboration with caregivers while maintaining a therapeutic space where the young person can feel safe developing trust and expressing themselves.
If you’re wondering whether One Sky Wellness would be an appropriate fit for your child or teen, you’re welcome to reach out before booking.
-
Yes. What you share in counselling is treated with care and confidentiality. Your privacy is an important part of creating a space where you can speak openly and honestly.
There are some legal and ethical limits to confidentiality, which I’ll explain clearly during the informed-consent process so you understand them before we begin. If a situation ever arises where information may need to be shared, I will involve you in that conversation whenever possible and appropriate.
-
Your first session is about getting to know one another and creating a comfortable place to begin. We’ll talk about what brought you to counselling, what life looks like for you right now, relevant parts of your story, and what you hope might feel different.
There’s no pressure to tell me everything at once or arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on. You’re welcome to ask questions, take your time, and share only what you’re ready to share. Together, we’ll begin identifying your goals and what counselling might look like moving forward.
-
Not at all. You don’t need to wait until things feel overwhelming. Counselling can be a space to better understand yourself, work through past or present experiences, develop new tools, or simply explore what you’d like to feel different.
-
Yes! One Sky Wellness offers secure video and telephone counselling, providing flexibility to access support from wherever you feel most comfortable.
Mobile/in-home counselling is also available in select areas, allowing us to meet in the comfort and familiarity of your own home when appropriate. Availability for in-person services depends on location and scheduling.
If you’re unsure which option is right for you, feel free to reach out and we can figure out what works best.
-
It really depends! There is no predetermined timeline for therapy, and no two healing journeys look exactly the same.
Some concerns may respond well to a handful of focused sessions, while trauma, longstanding patterns, or more complex experiences may benefit from longer-term support. The goal isn’t to keep you in therapy forever—it’s to help you develop the insight, skills, tools, and confidence to navigate life beyond the counselling room.
When you feel ready, sessions can become less frequent or come to an end. And if another storm rolls in down the road, the door is always open to return.
-
There is no one-size-fits-all schedule. Many clients begin with weekly or bi-weekly 50-minute sessions, while others attend more or less frequently depending on their needs, goals, circumstances, and preferences.
Counselling may be short-term and focused on a specific concern or continue longer when working through more complex or longstanding experiences. Some clients also choose less frequent sessions as a way of maintaining their mental wellness.
Ultimately, we’ll work together to find a rhythm that makes sense for you.
-
One Sky Wellness offers counselling by appointment, with availability varying throughout the week. Sessions are available virtually by secure video, by telephone, and in person from the comfort of your own home where available.
Current appointment availability can be viewed through the online booking system. If you’re having difficulty finding a time that works for you, feel free to reach out.

Finding the right counsellor matters. Training and therapeutic approaches are important, but so is finding someone with whom you feel comfortable, respected, understood, and able to be yourself.
You don’t have to know whether I’m the right fit before we meet. Our first conversations are an opportunity for you to get a sense of my approach, ask questions, and notice how it feels to work together. I also welcome feedback throughout therapy—if something isn’t working for you, I want us to be able to talk about it.
And sometimes, I may not be the best fit for what you need. That’s okay too. When appropriate, I’ll help you consider other supports or resources that may better serve you. Therapy is your space, and finding the right support is more important than simply staying with the first counsellor you meet.
